Course Overview
Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a debilitating and dose-limiting side effect of chemotherapy, characterized by severe pain, numbness, and loss of fine motor skills. This course comprehensively reviews the extensive body of evidence demonstrating that acupuncture can initiate neuroregeneration, thereby addressing the nerve damage long considered irreversible. Participants will explore the specific acupuncture points used in successful research, learn about critical treatment dosages, and understand manual acupuncture needle stimulation techniques essential for effective intervention.
Through this course, participants will gain practical, science-backed knowledge that can be immediately applied in clinical settings to treat CIPN. The course includes an in-depth examination of systematic reviews and meta-analyses, case studies, and real-world examples of successful treatment protocols.
Additionally, we will discuss the Acupuncture Now Foundation’s campaign aimed at raising awareness and advocating for acupuncture as a frontline treatment for peripheral neuropathy. The course will also address potential challenges and limitations in treating CIPN with acupuncture, providing a balanced perspective on its efficacy and application.
By completing this course, practitioners will be equipped to enhance their clinical practice and improve patient outcomes for those suffering from CIPN.
