Course Overview

Acupuncture plays a vital role in hospice and end-of-life care, offering practical and meaningful ways to support patients and their families. This 1.5-hour course focuses on effective point combinations and treatment strategies that help manage common challenges such as pain, anxiety, breathing difficulties, and emotional distress.

Drawing from 18 years of clinical experience in both hospital and private practice settings, Ofir Michalies presents five essential acupuncture point combinations that can be easily integrated into palliative care. The course also explores how to teach simple techniques to caregivers, allowing them to participate in their loved one’s care and provide comfort through acupressure.

Teaching Caregivers to Provide Comfort and Connection

Acupuncture is a clinical tool, and also a way to create connection and ease suffering. By guiding caregivers and family members in using key points through gentle acupressure, practitioners can extend the benefits of treatment beyond the clinic and into daily care. This approach fosters a sense of involvement, reassurance, and relief for both patients and their loved ones.
Taking this course, you will gain a new view of Eastern and Western perspectives on end-of-life care, evidence-based acupuncture protocols for symptom management, and strategies for working within medical and hospice settings.

Expect to leave with the confidence to provide compassionate, effective care in this critical phase of life.
