Course Overview
This course covers three compelling topics, each integral to the practice of Five Element Acupuncture.
Pulse Diagnosis: Unravel the unique aspects of pulse diagnosis in Five Element Acupuncture. We’ll focus on how this vital technique helps in assessing the immediate effects of treatment and forecasting possible outcomes, thereby enhancing your diagnostic skills.
Qi Transfers and Acupuncture Points: Explore the intricacies of Qi transfers. You’ll learn the art of using specific acupuncture points for sedation or tonification, including the strategic application of Junction points and points on the Ke cycle. This section is crucial for fine-tuning your treatment techniques.
The ‘Chinese Clock’ and Its Global Context: Examine the historical and practical aspects of the ‘Chinese clock’ or the ‘law of midday and midnight,’ which tracks the movement of Qi through the channels in two-hour cycles. We’ll compare its principles with the ten heavenly stems and twelve earthly branches, commonly used in Asia, and draw insightful comparisons to Western medicine’s understanding of the 24-hour body clock and circadian rhythms. This segment will not only broaden your theoretical knowledge but also enhance your practical diagnostic and treatment methods.
