Course Overview
Nausea and vomiting are among the most distressing side effects of chemotherapy, significantly impacting cancer patients’ quality of life. This course provides a comprehensive approach to the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea using acupuncture and Chinese medicine.
Integrating TCM and Modern Research
Drawing from both classical TCM theory and modern evidence-based research, practitioners will learn to integrate acupuncture protocols, herbal strategies, and dietary recommendations to effectively manage nausea. The course explores key acupuncture points such as PC 6, St 36, and Ren 12, the role of extraordinary meridians like Chong Mai and Yin Wei Mai, and the impact of chemotherapy on Spleen and Stomach Qi dynamics.
Herbal and Dietary Approaches
Participants will also gain insights into the use of ginger (Sheng Jiang) as a well-researched herbal intervention for nausea relief. Special attention is given to individualizing treatments based on patient constitution, emotional state, and chemotherapy regimen.
Practical Application in Clinical Settings
By combining TCM wisdom with modern clinical findings, this course equips practitioners with powerful tools to enhance patient care and improve treatment outcomes. Strategies for using intradermal needles, auricular acupuncture, and patient self-care techniques will be covered.
This course is designed as both a standalone module and a specialized component of our Oncology Acupuncture Program, providing essential knowledge for TCM practitioners working with cancer patients.
